‘Lost the light of our life:’ family grieves boy killed in dog attack

The family of the boy killed in Riceton said they lost “the light of our life.”

980 CJME spoke to the little boy’s grandfather. He was shattered, quickly melting into a chair on his porch, with tears gushing from his face and his hands acting as a mask.

Even people who did not know the boy said they were devasted upon learning the news. Some are convinced it was a freak accident, believing that to be the only explanation for the boy’s death.

‘A wonderful goofy amazing little boy’

A GoFundMe page has been set up to pay for the funeral expenses. The family hopes the online campaign will raise $7,000.

The six-year-old has been identified on the GoFundMe page only as Cammie. His aunt, Cassandra-Marie Mushanksi, started the campaign.

“He was a wonderful goofy amazing little boy that didn’t deserve to be taken so soon,” Mushanski wrote. “We are looking for help to give him the proper goodbye that he deserves to have to be taken so soon the way he was.”

By Friday morning, the campaign had raised more than $5,700.
