Fans at the Lancaster Taphouse were impressed with the play of Canadian goaltender Carter Hart

It was so tense in the Lancaster Taphouse Thursday night that you might have expected someone to start pacing.

Instead, everyone was glued to the television.

Three periods of back and forth hockey between Team Canada and Team USA had the bar on the feet and groaning in frustration all night long. A 20 minute overtime brought everyone to the edge, but it took a shootout to decide the game between the the North American Rivals.

The Americans ended up taking the game 5-4.

"A shootout is the worst way to win, the worst way to lose," said Hayley Cattell, while giving kudos to Canada's goaltender Carter Hart. "To have a shoot out and only one goal go in that's pretty outstanding."

Cattell thought Canada had it in the bag, but the USA goaltender Tyler Parsons really brought the game home for his teammates and his country.

"The US was standing on their heads for a couple minutes there and I thought we definitely had it there in the third."

Sitting at the bar to watch the game was Tim Rogers who said the whole thing was amazing, save the loss for Canada.

"I think it was a pretty even matched game," Rogers said. "Canada out shot them. They seemed to have the edge in the game. Both teams at some points were on their heels and some were pressing and it just came to that last shot."

Despite the outcome, Rogers said he's still proud of Team Canada and is already looking forward to next year.

"I can't wait until next year. It's the world juniors, (the) best tournament."
