A playoff-less 2016/17 campaign for the Saskatoon Blades ended with a 5-1 loss in Prince Albert.

One day prior, Saskatoon was ousted from the playoff race when Calgary beat Kootenay 6-1.

Mason McCarty had the Blades lone goal.

Brock Hamm made 26 saves in a losing effort in what could be the 20-year old's final game as a Blade.

The loss is the final WHL games for Blades over-age players Bryton Sayers, Jesse Shynkaruk and Markson Bechtold.
