Anna Wilkes appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Friday to stand accused of killing her three-year-old child.

She faced charges of manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death and obstructing justice.

Her little boy's body was found in a van she allegedly tried to set fire to in attempt to destroy evidence. It is also alleged Wilkes failed to get her son medical attention that may have saved his life. He was found May 3, 2011.

She's due back in court next week.
