Saskatchewan wins one, loses one at Brier

Saskatchewan defeated BC, then lost to New Brunswick in Monday’s play at the Tim Horton’s Brier in Edmonton.

In draw six the Brock Virtue team out of Regina's Callie Curling Club downed B.C.’s Andrew Bileski 4-1. Saskatchewan put two on the board in the second end, then stole one in the third for the win.

In the evening draw New Brunswick downed Saskatchewan 9-8. Trailing 8-5, Virtue put three on the board in the 10th to force an extra end, only to have the James Grattan team score a point with the hammer in the 11th.

 Saskatchewan meets Manitoba in their lone game on Tuesday.

Newfoundland and Labrador tops the standings at 5 and 0. Northern Ontario and Quebec are next at 4 and 1. Manitoba is 3 and 1.
