A 15-year-old boy is dead after crashing a truck on 19th Street near 4th Avenue early Thursday morning.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. An eyewitness told Saskatoon police that they saw the same truck speeding before the crash.
Traffic investigators have since determined that speed was a factor.
Two lamp posts in the eastbound lane were smashed on 19th Street. As morning traffic drove by, the red truck was sitting in the same lane, facing westbound.
Investigators don’t know if alcohol was a factor. The boy was the only person in the vehicle.
