Trevon Tate is set to face the team he started the 2024 CFL season with this week.
A privately-held company in the Regina area will be building armour-plated cabs for 150 vehicles in the Canadian military after being awarded another military contract.
Dumur Industries, based at the old Dad’s Cookie plant in White City, has been busy with military contracts since 1997. General manager Ian Harrison says these sort of contracts take a long time to come to fruition.
“This one has actually been on the books since around 2006 (when) they started talking about it,” Harrison said.
The contract will mean 20 to 30 jobs at the plant over the next three years.
“We will be fabricating these cab structures here, we’ll be painting them, and sending them on for completion.”
This sub contract is part of an $834-million vehicle deal with Mack Defense which is headquartered in the U.S. but also operates plants in Canada.
