If you want to find the most-intense rides at the Queen City Ex, you can just follow the screams to the Bonsai, the Mach 3, and the Mega Drop.
“It’s fun. Just exciting I guess. It throws you upside down just in a continuous circle upside down,” Dylan said describing the Bonsai.
He said it’s an adrenaline rush. His favourite ride is the Mega Drop and he’s already been on it three times.

For many young thrill seekers, the midway rides offer a chance to prove your guts to friends. Isabelle says she will go on the Mega Drop, but admits that she draws the line at the Mach 3, which flips you upside down.
“I don’t like the upside down part, the spinning and the being high off the ground,” Isabelle said.
Her friend Hailey said she hates heights too but she still got up the nerve to try the Mach 3.
“It’s not as bad as you think, I thought it would be way worse,” she said. “My friend really wanted to go on it so I was just like, okay. Try everything once right? That’s what I say. Try everything once and if you don’t like it, don’t do it again. But I liked it.”
CeeCee said she always assures her friends that the rides are perfectly safe. If that doesn’t work she opts for bribery with food.
“It just feels so energizing and super thrilling, it’s just the wait that kinda gets to you,” she said.
For these teenagers, fear is not a good enough excuse to avoid the rides. They said the only really valid reason to stay away is if you know you might puke.

There are still plenty of attractions for people who don’t like rides at all. You can take in the food and the midway games while listening to music on the midway stage or performances by a one-man band. The Sinbad High Diving Show runs every two hours in the afternoon.
If you want to cool off inside for a while, you can check out regular performances by Hypnotist Wayne Lee. Inside the Credit Union Eventplex, you can also find Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo where you could get the chance to pet a tarantula or a baby kangaroo.
Inside the Brandt Centre you can also take in the RCMP Musical Ride. The Great Western Stage at Confederation Park features live music performances every night.
