Saskatoon city council passed a vote Thursday that will see electronic cigarettes treated the same as conventional tobacco when it comes to city bylaws.
That would see e-cigs added to a ban on smoking in city-owned buildings, parks and outdoor sporting facilities.
The move would also mean vapours would have to join conventional cigarette smokers in indulging their habit at least nine metres from the entrance of any civic building.
All but Councillors Mairin Loewen and Eric Olauson voted in favour of the move.
