The winning streak is over for the Regina Pats as they continue a five game road trip.
On Wednesday, the Pats made their way to Lethbridge and lost for the first time in three games 6-4 to the Hurricanes.
As they’ve done a few times, the Pats trailed early after a pair of goals in the back half of the first period from the Hurricanes. Ryley Lindgren opened the scoring nearly 14 minutes into the contest. Egor Babenko added his fourth of the season minutes later.
Regina started to find their groove in the second period with two goals from Adam Brooks and one from Connor Hobbs as the Pats held a 3-2 lead heading into the final frame.
Lethbridge responded to open the third, taking a 4-3 lead thanks to back-to-back goals from Tyler Wong in the first nine minutes of the period. Brooks tied the game a couple of minutes with his third of the night. Wong would get a hat trick of his own just past the 15-minute mark of the period giving Lethbridge a 5-4 lead. Lindgren added his second of the night into an empty net to round out the scoring.
Brooks’ three-goal performance gives him a team-leading seven goals and 12 points. All of those points have come in the last four games.
The Pats are now 4-4-0-0 on the season. They return to the ice on Friday night in Edmonton against the Oil Kings.
The Pats return home on Oct. 25 as they host the Prince Albert Raiders.
