Police a man crashed a vehicle while trying to make a turn, and then ran off leaving the 32-year-old man facing several charges.
According to police, the hit and run happened just before 8 a.m. on Saturday. An SUV was driving north on Lewvan drive and tried to make a right turn onto Sherwood Drive. It didn’t quite make the turn and ended up hitting a truck that was stopped in the right turn lane on the other side of Sherwood.
Police said the people in the SUV got out and ran. Two people were arrested in the area, allegedly the driver and an occupant of the vehicle. A third person, who was injured, was later also found by officers.
The 75-year-old man who was in the truck was sent to hospital, but he’ll be alright.
Patrick Redwood, 32, is alleged to be the driver of the SUV. He’s being charged with driving while disqualified, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving bodily harm, two counts of exceeding 0.08 causing bodily harm, two counts of driving while ability impaired, and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
Redwood’s first appearance in court on these charges will be Monday morning.
