Robbie Holmes made a great first impression with the Regina Pats in front of a season-high 6,023 fans at the Brandt Centre.
The 16-year-old call-up netted his first career goal in his Pats debut, as the Pats blanked the Saskatoon Blades 4-0 in the first half of their home-and-home set.
Holmes turned some heads in his limited ice time. His goal added some insurance in the third period as the 11th-round pick in the 2014 Bantam Draft scored the fourth Pats goal.
It was a decent night for rookies, as fellow rookie Riley Woods added a pair of goals. Austin Wagner gets credit with the game winner as he started the scoring with his 18th goal of the season.
Meanwhile, Tyler Brown earned his second shutout of the season. Brown stopped 28 shots and picked up his ninth win of the year.
The Pats and Blades will meet again on Saturday night at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon.
