The Regina Pats are now the hottest team in the WHL with their fifth-straight win.
Adam Brooks and Cole Sanford are riding some impressive streaks of points and goaltender Tyler Brown continues to shine between the pipes. Sunday was no different against Edmonton.
Sanford extended his point streak to seven games just 23 seconds into the game, when he started the scoring.
Adam Brooks point streak was stretched to 10 games when he assisted on Sanford’s second of the game midway through the first period. Brooks now has six goals and 20 assists over the 10 games. He would add another assist in the third period, setting up a one-time blast by Chase Harrison for the insurance marker on the Pats road to a 3-1 win.
Meanwhile, Tyler Brown was magnificent in net as he stopped 48 or 49 shots, in what was his busiest game of the year. Brown kept the Pats up one goal heading into the third period with some big saves as the Pats were shorthanded for almost the last four minutes of the period, including a five on three disadvantage that carried over into the third. In the third, Brown turned away all 20 Oil Kings shots as Edmonton out shot Regina 20-8.
Brown has won his last seven starts.
Up next for the Pats is a quick two game road trip to Alberta where they’ll play Medicine Hat on Tuesday and Lethbridge on Wednesday. They return home to the Brandt Centre this coming Friday against Prince Albert.
