Tyler Brown leads Pats to a 2-0 win and a 3-1 series lead

The Regina Pats are a win away from the second round of the playoffs after a 2-0 win in game four of their first-round series against Lethbridge.

Goaltender Tyler Brown was the first star after stopping 32 shots for his second career playoff shutout in just his fourth playoff game.

Brown was again grinning ear to ear after the game but kept his comments a little more guarded after saying the Hurricanes would ‘crumble’ after the Pats game three win.

His Head Coach John Paddock may be trying to keep the young goalie a little humble after saying Brown has gotten a lucky a few times but admitted you have to be good to be lucky and lucky to be good.

Paddock is also giving a lot of credit to the return of captain Colby Williams, who has helped snuff out the Hurricanes top line over the Pats three straight wins.

The Pats got a taste of how desperate Lethbridge will be now that they face elimination, as Lethbridge out shot the Pats 11-4 in the third period.

The Pats fourth shot was an empty net goal by Adam Brooks to put the game out of reach.

Cole Sanford was credited with the game-winning goal as Sam Steel made a great play and created the turnover as the Pats started the scoring with 48 seconds left in the first period.

The Pats can eliminate the Hurricanes on Friday night in Lethbridge.

• Brandon got their first win of their series with a 3-1 win in Edmonton. The Oil Kings lead the series 2-1.
• Kamloops tied their series with Kelowna at two games after the Blazers won game four 5-1.
• Everett and Seattle are off to the second round. Everett swept Portland with a 4-2 win. Seattle swept Prince George with a 4-3 overtime win.
• Victoria scored in overtime to go up 3-1 in their series against Spokane.
