Sheldon Kennedy to be inducted into Broncos' Hall of Fame

Former NHL star, Sheldon Kennedy, has been in the news a lot lately as he advocates for victims of abuse, but next month he’s being recognized for his contributions to the hockey world. 
 
Kennedy will be inducted into the Swift Current Broncos’ Hall of Fame. On May 27, the team will hold a ‘Denim, Boots and Diamonds’ event at the Credit Union i-Plex Curling Rink.
 
Kennedy spent three seasons with the W-H-L team, playing 159 games, earning 134 goals and 287 points. He captained the team when they won the Memorial Cup in 1989.

Kennedy is technically already in the Hall of Fame as part of the Memorial Cup winning team, but will now join the likes of Joe Sakic and Tood McLellan with individual honours. 

In the announcement, the team mentioned Kennedy’s achievements as an advocate, and his work influencing policy changes in the way child abuse is handled. 
 
Tickets are being sold for the event – $60 for an individual, or $420 for a table of eight. Tickets can be bought by contacting The Stable.
