There are still plenty of tickets left for Wednesday night’s game at the Brandt Centre as the Regina Pats look to pull out another win in their second-round series against the Red Deer Rebels.
More than 6,200 fans were in the crowd Tuesday as the Pats doubled Red Deer 6-3.
The thing fans may have been upset about was leaving the facility. Due to the construction of the new Mosaic Stadium next door, some of the parking lot exits are closed.
Paula Kohl, director of marketing and communications with Evraz Place, says exit time Tuesday night was about 35 minutes. There was a collision at the Lewvan Drive exit, however, which may have slowed down traffic a bit.
“We’d like it to be about 20 minutes, which is reasonable,” Kohl said, adding there are still a few options available that not all patrons may consider.
“It seems that most people try to exit out on Lewvan, cause if they’re going north or south, but if they come out to (the) Princess (Street) and 9th (Avenue exits), they can easily get to some of the main roadways as well.”
Parking attendants are on site to try and help direct the traffic as it leaves the parking lot, but Kohl admits that it’s difficult to avoid issues when the parking lot is full.
Those who don’t mind more of a walk may consider parking in nearby lots like the Sportplex and the Regina Armoury, Kohl suggested.
Puck drop for Wednesday’s game is 7 p.m.
Red Deer leads the series two games to one.
