'Start of something special': Riders use garbage bag day to reflect on 2024

The locker room was full of optimism for the future of the organization on Sunday.
The Red Deer Rebels took the lead in the series again on Friday night with a 5-1 win over the Regina Pats.
The teams had been tied 2-2 in the series.
The Pats kept on the Rebels’ heels for the first two periods, but Red Deer ran away with the game in the third – scoring three of their five goals.
In the third Sean Richards got Regina’s only goal, with assists from Sergey Zborovskiy and Cold Sanford. It was Richards’ first career WHL playoff goal.
The teams will be returning to Regina for Game Six on Sunday at 4 p.m. Tickets were already sold out as of early Saturday afternoon.
