Uncover the Cure Cocktail Party raises big money for good cause

The ninth annual Uncover the Cure Cocktail Party held at Wascana Golf and Country Club was hailed another success.

The event, hosted by News Talk Radio’s John Gormley, raised $79,300 which is used to purchase state of the art equipment for the Prostate Assessment Centre at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina.

One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

“It’s extremely important that we catch it quickly and that’s why the assessment centre is so important. If we catch it quickly we can cure it, we can treat it and you can go on to live a normal life,” said Dino Sophocleous, president and CEO of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

The event this year featured chefs from across Canada, including winner of Top Chef Canada Dale McKay.
