It’s the hometown of golfer Graham Delaet, the Red Wings junior hockey team and one of the only KFC buffets in the country, Weyburn is ranked as the best place to live in Saskatchewan.
MoneySense Magazine ranked the “City of Opportunity” in southeast Sasktachewan at the top based on a range of factors like quality of life and affordability.
In the summary, the magazine noted that Weyburn offers every amenity and homes are cheaper than they are in bigger cities while household incomes are higher than average.
“That means families in Weyburn have more money for other things, like saving for retirement, taking vacations or investing, which helps explain why the average household net worth here is the highest in the province,” MoneySense wrote.
The personal finance magazine ranked Regina in second place and Saskatoon in fourth. In the national rankings, Weyburn was number 28 on the list of 219 Canadian cities.
