World Juniors whammy: Canada upset by Latvia in shootout

Canada had outscored Latvia 41-4 in their last four meetings.
Classes are nearly out for all students in Regina as another school year comes to a close.
But summer can be a difficult time for some kids who rely on school food programs to get fed.
“When summer comes, their chance to enjoy the same summer and get out and throw a ball and have some fun might be compromised by the fact that they wouldn’t be starting off with that good breakfast in the morning,” described Steve Compton, Regina Food Bank CEO.
Kellogg’s is donating $70,000 to food banks across Canada. Regina will receive enough money to be able to distribute 250 food hampers a week over the summer months for those children who may not otherwise be able to eat.
“Hopefully what it does is it keeps them [with] a full tummy and lets them enjoy a really nice summer as well,” added Compton.
Once school’s out, gaps do exist in programs that ensure kids get breakfast, lunch and dinner on a regular basis, Compton said, and he believes this program will help fill that void.
