Adam Brooks didn’t waste much time getting himself on the score sheet. Brooks scored twice in his return after missing the first six games of the season at Toronto Maple Leafs training camp.
Although, the Pats captain would have much rather done so in a win.
Portland ruined Brooks’ return with a 5-4 overtime win.
It was a back and forth night that saw the Pats fight back from a 3-1 deficit, eventually taking a 4-3 lead midway through the third period.
Portland tied the game with under three minutes left and eventually won late in overtime, thanks to a Caleb Jones goal with 56 seconds left until a shootout.
Both goaltenders were busy with 103 shots total, 52 for the Pats, 51 for the Winterhawks.
Regina still hasn’t lost in regulation all season as they now sit with a 4-0-3-0 record. Up next for the Pats is a swing West to take on Kootenay on Friday and Lethbridge on Saturday.
