It was bound to end sometime.
The Victoria Royals snapped the Regina Pats’ 11 game winning streaking Saturday night.
The Pats had yet to lose a game in regulation time this season, losing just three games all year in overtime. The team now moves to 15-1-3 on the season.
Victoria got ahead 2-0 in the first and the Pats tried, but in the end were unable to bounce back from the deficit, despite outshooting the Royal 46-25.
The Pats first got on the board in the second period with goals from Connor Hobbs and Lane Zablocki, but the Royals also scored one putting them up 3-2 on the Pats after the second period.
Victoria got on the board first in the third period, putting them up 4-2, but 30 seconds later Connor Hobbs scored his second of the night putting the game within one.
Unfortunately, the Pats were not able to get the equalizer and Victoria scored on the empty net in the dying seconds of the game.
While the Pats win streak has ended, both Chase Harrison and Connor Hobbs extended their point streaks to 13 and 14 games respectively.
The team is back in action again on Sunday night against the Vancouver Giants.
