It was the second regulation loss of the season for the Regina Pats Tuesday night.
The team started its western road trip undefeated in regulation time, but has now dropped two games in five days — first against Victoria and now against Prince George.
The Cougars scored fast and furious in the first period, putting up three goals in four minutes. Austin Wagner notched a goal for the Pats late in the period making it 3-1 going into the second.
Neither team had much luck against the goalies in the second period, which remained scoreless.
Sergey Zborovskiy started the third off right with a powerplay goal assisted by Chase Harrison and Lane Zablocki, but that would be the end of the Pats scoring.
Prince George scored two more goals at 18:23 and 19:27 of the third, sealing the win.
The Pats, who usually outshoot their opponents by a large margin were kept reined in by their opponents Tuesday night – shots on goal were tied at 29 at the end of the game.
However, several Pats continued their point streak including Adam Brooks (15 games) and Chase Harrison (16 games).
The Pats now sit at 16-2-3 (the three stands for overtime losses), but continue to lead the Eastern Conference.
The Pats are now 2-2 on their six game road trip, with two more games to go before they return home to the Brandt Centre on Dec. 3.
