The job cuts in the province have now reached Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw.
The Responsible Gambling Advisor Unit is being reduced to a single person.
The unit was made of five people who walked both casino floors spotting problem gamblers.
With all casino staff now trained to do that, the government doesn’t think that unit is necessary.
“We are utilizing all those people on the floor instead of those set people,” maintained Christine Tell, minister responsible for Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation.
“Recognizing addicted gamblers is part of responsible gaming overall.”
One person will remain and act as a manager travelling between the two facilities to oversee the work being done, one other has been redeployed elsewhere in the casinos and the other three will receive severance totalling $250,000.
