"I like being different and doing as much as I can and showing people what I am capable of."
One year ago, the Saskatchewan Huskies needed four overtimes to advance from the quarterfinals at the University Cup.
In 2017, it took just 1:01 of extra time to beat York University 1-0 and advance to the U Sports final four of men’s hockey.
Levi Cable was the hero, his wrist shot from the top of the right-hand circle found a way through Lions goalie Mack Shields.
Goalie Jordon Cooke was the player of the game for the Huskies, earning a shutout with 24 saves. His performance included a goal line save with 0.5 seconds left in the first period, getting his glove on the puck with the net gaping.
The Huskies will face either the StFX X-Men or the McGill Redmen in Saturday’s semifinal.
