Four people are facing attempt to commit murder charges after an assault with a weapon resulted in an hours-long stand-off in Regina.
It all started after 10 p.m. on March 16, when police received a call from the Regina General Hospital, where a man was reportedly brought in with injuries related to an assault with a weapon.
After some investigation, police dispatched SWAT, crisis negotiators and the explosives disposal unit to a home on the 700 block of Elphinstone Street.
Police said six people left the home. Four of them, a 28-year-old woman, a 27-year-old woman, 24-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, were charged with threatening and attempting to commit murder.
After obtaining a search warrant, police said an imitation handgun, bladed weapons and a needle were found.
Twenty-seven-year-old Kelly Delbert, 27-year-old Janay Adele Sunshine Keewatin, 28-year-old Morgan Chance Littlechief and 24-year-old Amanda Gusnowski, all of Regina, were charged with attempting to commit murder and uttering threats.
Keewatin and Littlechief were also charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, while Gusnowski was charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
All four people appeared in court Monday morning.
