The Riders are back in the West final for the first time since 2021.
Saskatchewan’s highways will be getting a boost in funding from Ottawa.
The federal government announced Friday it will provide up to half of the funding – around $31.6 million – for five highway rehabilitation projects in Saskatchewan.
The projects have a combined total estimated cost of more than $64.2 million.
“Investing in infrastructure is a part of our plan to keep the Saskatchewan economy strong,” Marit said in a news release. “Projects that will help Saskatchewan meet the challenges of a growing province, help build the economy and most importantly, help people get home safely.”
More than 220 kilometres of highway will be resurfaced to help reduce long-term costs and extend the life of the roads by more than 25 years.
The highways included are a part of the National Highway System and connect the four western provinces.
