Regina could be getting a new Costco.
An application for discretionary use will be discussed by the city’s planning commission on Wednesday. The massive wholesale retailer is considering building near Victoria Avenue and Tower Road in the new Aurora subdivision.
That’s just minutes away from the current Costco.
It’s unclear whether the proposed new building would simply be a move for the company or a second store.
Costco itself is not commenting.
The proposal includes 14,600 square metres of floor space. Space for office, warehousing, food services, a gas bar and vehicle repair shop would be included as well.
Drivers would be able to access the new building through four different entrances with parking space of more than 860 spots.
The planning commission will make a recommendation for city council to consider at its meeting April 24.
