People driving on Park Street in Regina saw quite the sight Wednesday afternoon.
An excavator was demolishing a house on the 2800 block of Park Street when it ended up on its side, in the basement of the home.
Ed Michalski was just getting home when he stepped out his vehicle to watch the demolition of the house with his daughter.
“He was just knocking down the last little piece of the house, it was pretty interesting,” Michalski said.
He described how the excavator was at the back of the house when it drove onto the wooden floor.
“All of a sudden, boom – the front end went right in.”
Michalski said he saw the operator walking around and they appeared to be alright.
This wasn’t the first incident to take place at the house. In January, an early morning blaze in frigid temperatures took place at the home.
“I watched the morning of the fire too,” Michalski said. “That morning in January it was 40 below, there were six firetrucks here.”
