The Costco geese are back for another year.
The pair have been coming back to the store in east Regina the last several years to nest. One is usually located in a corner against the building and the other on guard at the edge of the road.
The goose by the road won’t move either as people are forced to drive around it. Even honking won’t budge the bird.
Art Opseth, a Costco customer, believes the geese have found a spot they feel safe.
“They go in different places, they find a spot that they are comfortable with and they keep coming back,” explained Opseth.
Darcy Skwara, another customer, stopped to take a photo of one of the birds. He said he had to go around it because it wouldn’t move.
“One must be nesting nearby, he’s on guard I guess,” said Skwara when talking about the goose by the edge of the road.
Other customers were surprised and confused to see the geese, with one person saying they thought one was injured.
