With bright flames and heavy smoke billowing from two apartment balconies, Saskatoon Fire got several 911 calls Sunday evening.
Around 6:50 p.m. multiple crews arrived at 1020 Matheson Drive, in the city’s northwest, to find balconies on the second and third floor fully engulfed.
Everyone inside the apartments had already evacuated by the time the fire department arrived and a quick search confirmed everyone was out safely.
It took crews about 20 minutes to get the blaze under control.
Damage was limited to two suites and the building’s roof and is estimated at $330,000.
An investigation into the cause was underway overnight.
