If you donated to the Saskatchewan Roughriders Build the Pride campaign you can now see where the money was spent.
The goal was $5 million to buy the new SaskTel Maxtron the largest LED video screen in any sports facility in Canada.
“We literally went a put this side-by-side with Rogers Centre,” Gregg Sauter, with the Riders organization, said. “It is four times larger than our last videoboard.”
The money is also going to the fan wall and common spaces outside the stadium. It is where you will see your name if you made a donation of $300.
The 6,844 square foot videotron can be seen from Saskatchewan Drive on the south side of Mosaic Stadium.
A large portion of the $5 million came from the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation.
“We ran one of the largest digital fundraising campaigns in Canadian history,” executive director Christina Attard said. “We reached out to Rider nation and they responded.”
The fan wall along with the new statue, designed to be an ode to fans, will be unveiled on June 27.
