For the second time this month, fire crews battled a blaze at a home on the 1300 block of Garnet Street.
Regina fire received a call about the home around 5:30 a.m. Friday. Steve Nelson, acting deputy chief, said no one lives there.
“At the time that the crews arrived, it was a full fire,” Nelson said. “They tried to gain entry into the house, but decided to go defensively immediately upon arrival.”
He said the home was on fire earlier in August and at that time, the house was filled with a “considerable amount” of items, such as newspapers and household items.
“(It’s) unclear if (the items) were there when the house was occupied, or if they had been put in there as storage since then,” Nelson said.
He noted there had been reports that people were storing items in the home.
Both blazes at the home are under investigation. There’s no estimate yet on damages for either fire.
