The Regina Pats wrapped up the regular season on Saturday with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Swift Current Broncos.
The Pats Aaron Hyman opened the scoring with a rebound in the first period, his third goal of the year.
But the Broncos would tie it up 48 seconds later to end the first period at 1-1.
Jared Legien would score for the Pats in the second period. He ripped a shot from the right circle into the top of the net.
But again, the Broncos would tie things up, making it 2-2 at the end of two periods.
About 12 minutes into the third period, a glass issue forced a long break, with both teams going back to their dressing rooms.
After the issued was fixed, regulation time would end with the two clubs tied at two, forcing overtime.
It only took 32 seconds into overtime for the Broncos Tyler Steenbergen to get the game winning goal.
The Pats were outshot by the Broncos 34-32. Regina was one for four on the powerplay and four for four on the penalty kill.
The Pats are now heading to playoffs.
They take on the Broncos in the first series.
Game one goes Friday in Swift Current. Game time is 7 p.m.
Game two will also be played in Swift Current, before moving to Regina for games three and four.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 12 p.m.
