In the fifth round of the NHL Entry Draft, the Montreal Canadiens selected the Prince Albert Raiders sophomore forward 128th overall.
Fonstad led all 2000-born skaters in the WHL in scoring with 73 points in a full 72-game season.
His selection marks the eighth year in a row that a Raider has been chosen in the NHL Draft.
He’s also the 11th Raider to get picked in the NHL Entry Draft in that span. Here are the rest during that streak.
