A Regina Canada Post driver was thrown from his mail van Wednesday morning when another man jumped into the driver’s seat and took off.
Regina police said in a Thursday release the incident happened at about 5:40 a.m. while the worker was in the back of the vehicle loaded with packages. The vehicle was parked in a lot near Regina’s main post office on Saskatchewan Drive when at least one suspect jumped in and began driving the van away.
The worker was thrown from the van as the suspect drove away, but no injuries were reported.
The Canada Post vehicle was recovered nearly two hours later at 7:23 a.m. by White Butte RCMP, and a suspect was arrested.
Regina police are still investigating whether anyone else was involved with the theft, and want anyone with information to contact them at 306-777-6500 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
