Two people were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting in the east end of Regina on Sunday morning.
Police were sent to a business in the 1900 block of Fleet Street at 5:10 a.m. and found two gunshot victims.
Dale Lakeman lives nearby and said he heard a loud noise that morning.
“About 4:15 (a.m.), 4:30 (a.m.), I heard ‘bang, bang.’ I got up immediately,” said Lakeman.
Lakeman said he thought the noise came from somebody committing vandalism.
“And I’m thinking, ‘Somebody’s around breaking windows, breaking into cars.’ That’s what the ‘bang bang’ was,” he said.
So far, the police investigation indicates the shooting happened outdoors in the 200 block of Fines Drive, near F.W. Johnson Collegiate.
Police say they do not believe the act was a random occurrence.
