Listen to daily commentary from provincial news director Sarah Mills
Sarah Mills says parents are probably breathing a sigh of relief as kids head back to school after the Easter break.
As of 8:30 Thursday morning, residents in south-central Saskatchewan were without power, and SaskPower was working to fix the problem.
The outage affected residents in Wilcox, Assiniboia, Coronach, Caronport and Aneroid, among others communities.
Texters on the 980 CJME text line said their power had been out since 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
SaskPower communications person Joel Cherry said he didn’t know how many residents and ratepayers the outage affected.
But at 8:35 a.m., the utility provider posted on Twitter that power would be back up in Wilcox by noon.
Cherry didn’t know when power would be restored for the other affected areas.
