The Regina Pats have brought back a familiar face as they prepare for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
The team announced Thursday it has reacquired 20-year-old left-winger Robbie Holmes from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for fifth- and sixth-round picks in the 2020 WHL bantam draft.
Holmes, who is from Sherwood Park, Alta., was traded to the Silvertips on Jan. 10 at the 2019 trade deadline for a second-round pick in the 2020 bantam draft, a sixth-round pick in the 2022 bantam draft and forward prospect Sloan Stanick.
The Pats initially drafted Holmes in the 11th round (232nd overall) of the 2014 bantam draft.
Holmes has 32 goals and 34 assists in 174 career WHL regular-season games. He has played 148 of those games with the Pats.
Last season, Holmes put up 26 points in 50 games split between Regina and Everett. He also recorded eight points in 10 playoff games for the Silvertips.
