Ty Kolle scored the only goal of the shootout as the Regina Pats defeated the Prince Albert Raiders 4-3 in WHL action Saturday at the Brandt Centre.
Kolle was the first shooter in the breakaway portion of the contest and he scored on Raiders netminder Boston Bilous. Regina goalie Max Paddock made that goal stand up, stopping all three Prince Albert attempts.
The victory on Experience Regina Night lifted the Pats’ record to 3-12-2-0. The Raiders fell to 13-4-3-1.
Kolle, Carter Chorney and Logan Nijhoff scored in regulation time for the Pats. Kaiden Guhle, Reece Vitelli and Aliaksei Protas had goals for the Raiders.
Prince Albert fired 36 shots at Paddock through regulation time and overtime. Bilous was tested 27 times in the Prince Albert net before the shootout.
Regina is to return to action Tuesday, when it’s to play host to the Swift Current Broncos at 7 p.m. at the Brandt Centre. That game initially was to be played Nov. 8, but it was postponed due to an issue with the arena’s ice plant.
