The Regina Police Service is alerting the public about a training exercise that is to take place at the old STC building downtown over the next two days.
Recruits are training in “Rapid Deployment,” which is the tactical approach to an armed or dangerous person in a building who poses an immediate threat to the public or themselves.
Training will happen on Thursday between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. On Friday, it will take place between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Police say the public might see a number of police vehicles in the area and might hear loud noises. Live ammunition will not be used.
If there is a real emergency, Regina police say they’ll let the public know.
