The WHL’s Regina Pats won their fifth straight game Saturday, beating the Swift Current Broncos 6-2 at the Brandt Centre.
The teams were tied 2-2 in the second period before the Pats scored four straight goals over the game’s final 30 minutes to sweep a home-and-home set. Regina won 4-2 in Swift Current on Friday.
In Saturday’s game, Robbie Holmes had a goal and three assists for the Pats (18-26-3-2). Riley Krane, Drew Englot, Ryker Evans, Zack Smith and Carson Denomie had the other goals for Regina.
Aiden Bulych and Matthew Benson replied for the Broncos (10-36-1-3).
Regina netminder Donovan Buskey stopped 17 shots. Isaac Poulter made 30 saves in the Swift Current net.
The Pats are to embark on a three-game swing through Alberta. The road trip is to begin Tuesday in Medicine Hat against the Tigers before the Pats visit the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday and the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday.
