Josh Williams’ goal at 4:13 of overtime lifted the Edmonton Oil Kings to a 2-1 WHL victory over the Regina Pats on Saturday at the Brandt Centre.
The loss was Regina’s fourth in a row.
Edmonton’s Jake Neighbours scored the lone goal of the first period, but Pats captain Austin Pratt tied the game with the only goal of the second frame.
After a scoreless third, Williams ended things with 47 seconds left in the overtime period.
Beck Warm made 15 saves in the Oil Kings’ net.
Danton Belluk started for the Pats and stopped 12 shots in the first period. Donovan Buskey took over to start the second and made 27 saves over the final 44 minutes 13 seconds.
Edmonton improved to 39-10-6-3, while Regina fell to 19-31-4-2.
The Pats — who lost 6-3 to the Saskatoon Blades on Friday — are to conclude a string of three home games in three days Sunday, when they’re to entertain the Brandon Wheat Kings. Game at the Brandt Centre is set for 4 p.m.
