Charities that have had to cancel events due to COVID-19 can find a helping hand in Saskatoon.
The Kinsmen Club is offering financial aid to non-profits that couldn’t move forward with fundraisers.
They will hear out any group that had something planned between March 13 and May 31.
Shane Baillarguon, the marketing and media director for the Kinsmen, said they will do everything they can to help in these trying times.
“We don’t have unlimited funds, but we do have a significant amount of dollars that we’re looking to put forward to the best causes possible,” he explained.
“Given that we have the ability to mobilize some funds to these organizations in an emergency situation, we’re trying to find those groups.”
The Kinsmen Club often provides assistance to other non-profits, so to Baillarguon, this was a logical step.
“That was our inspiration. ‘How can we make a positive difference in the community and hopefully inspire other groups to do the same?’”
He encourages organizers to reach out via email at covid19assistance@kcos.ca.
