10:00 – More than 90% of students around the world have seen their studies affected by COVID-19, and a leading epidemiologist says it’s time to think hard about re-opening schools. According to Dr. Jay Kaufman, data show children of elementary-school age and younger aren’t very good at transmitting the virus to others, and it may be time to consider re-opening elementary schools and daycares. Quebec is planning to re-open elementary schools and daycares in early May, and Kaufman joins Gormley to discuss why he says a slow, managed return to school for younger children can be done safely.
