Even with many wearing masks and physical-distancing restrictions in place, people were still able to get out and enjoy the heat in Regina on Wednesday.
Market Square and much of downtown was full of people relaxing, chatting and enjoying food and drinks.

“I bought them as something to do, something to keep me active, to do my leg workout,” he said.
While he isn’t quite at a high level yet, it’s possible to do some intense tricks.
“There are flips, jump splits, all kinds of stuff,” he explained.
At the Regina Farmer’s Market, people were a bit more laid back in taking in the heat.
Jayla Kaip did some browsing and took in the market’s sights.
“It feels awesome. I honestly didn’t think we would be able to do anything this summer, so I’m really happy that we’re able to come out and support all these local businesses,” she said.
She did have concerns about COVID-19, but that didn’t stop her from heading out.
“It does make me a little bit anxious, but I feel better outside. Plus, I have a mask to help. I feel safe, I’d say,” she explained.
Vendors were also feeling good.
Ponziano Aluma runs Good Morning Springrolls with his wife, Lydia. He had no issue dealing with restrictions from the pandemic.
“I don’t have a problem with wearing a mask because it protects you and the people you interact with,” he said.
“You can’t fold up and stay home. You need to exist, to function … People drive. Just because you could have an accident doesn’t mean you don’t get in the car. The possibility is there, but if you wear a seatbelt, you drive … You go ahead with your life.”
Many areas of Saskatchewan were under a heat warning on Wednesday, but Regina wasn’t included in that alert. The Queen City was to reach a high of 31 C, according to Environment Canada.
