A Saskatchewan business has been fined $10,000 for breaking COVID-19 regulations.
The province’s Ministry of Health didn’t share Thursday which business had been fined, in which community it’s located, or when the fine was levied.
“A business was charged for operating during restrictions,” the ministry said in an email.
The business also had to pay a $4,000 victims of crime surcharge.
As of Thursday, three fines had been handed out by Saskatchewan health officials to individuals since the start of the pandemic.
On Thursday, it was revealed an individual had been fined following public health’s review of their contact investigation, which determined the individual did not self-isolate when symptomatic. That resulted in a $2,000 fine plus a surcharge that hiked the total to $2,800.
On Sept. 17, it was announced a person had been fined for organizing a private gathering in Saskatoon of more than 30 people, which exceeded the maximum number of attendees allowed under the Public Health Order. That also led to a fine of $2,000 plus a surcharge for a total of $2,800.
On April 6, it was revealed an individual had been fined for failing to isolate while positive with COVID-19. That $2,000 fine also carried an $800 surcharge.
