Afternoon classes at Regina’s Winston Knoll Collegiate were cancelled Friday after a positive case of COVID-19 was reported at the north-end school.
According to a statement from Regina Public Schools, the division was informed about the case by the Saskatchewan Health Authority on Friday at about 11 a.m.
The statement said the individual hasn’t been at the school on Rochdale Boulevard since Tuesday. The statement didn’t say if the person was a student or a staff member.
“Putting safety first, we have decided to cancel all classes this afternoon …,” the release from the division added. “We will contact all school families with further information by the end of the day of Monday, October 12th.”
Anyone who was in close contact with the person who tested positive will be contacted by the SHA. People with questions are urged to contact HealthLine 811 or their health-care provider.
It’s the second case reported in a Regina school this week. On Wednesday, Marion McVeety School was closed after a positive case was reported.
