Regina Public Schools said Thursday that additional cases of COVID-19 at Thom Collegiate have resulted in the school staying closed until Nov. 20.
It initially was to be closed until this coming Monday after a number of cases were identified.
Students at the Argyle Street high school are to continue learning remotely. In-person classes are scheduled to resume Nov. 23, but on alternate days after the division moved its high schools to Level 3 of the province’s Safe Schools Plan.
Regina Public Schools also posted an item on its website to explain the process that happens when someone at one of its facilities tests positive.
The division reported positive cases at three elementary schools — Ecole Elsie Mironuck School, Plainsview School and Ecole Wascana Plains School — on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, an individual who works at St. Gabriel School has tested positive for COVID, but classes will continue as scheduled at the east-end school.
The Regina Catholic School Division issued an advisory about the positive test Thursday. It didn’t say what role the person has at the elementary school.
“We are working closely with Public Health staff to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students and staff,” the division said in its release.
