Another Regina school has closed temporarily after a positive test for COVID-19 was identified.
In a media release, Regina Public Schools (RPS) informed parents and the public that a positive test was reported “in an individual” at Ecole Massey School in south Regina.
As a result, the school has been closed until Dec. 14. Students will transition to remote learning on Thursday.
RPS indicated it has reached out to all families with students at the school via automated phone calls, including close contacts of the individual who tested positive. Informational letters were also sent to families on Tuesday.
In the release, the division also said the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be reaching out to anyone who may have had close contact.
RPS also issued an advisory about a positive case at Ethel Milliken School.
The affected classroom is to be closed until Dec. 14, with students to begin online learning Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Regina Catholic School Division said there were positive cases in individuals at St. Matthew School and Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School.
A classroom at St. Matthew has been closed until Dec. 9, with students to move to online learning. All other classrooms at the school are to remain open.
Miller also is to stay open, except for the classrooms impacted by the positive test. Those are to be closed until Dec. 10.
“Although this is the fourth positive case for our school, please know that these cases have not been transmitted in the school and have come from outside of the school,” the school division said in a media release.
